GPU based interactive 3D visualization of ECMWF ensemble forecasts

Our research is motivated by forecasting cases from the T-NAWDEX-Falcon field campaign (hereafter TNF, see Box A), which in October 2012 aimed at taking in-situ measurements in warm conveyor belts (WCBs). In this article we describe our visualization approach to predict WCB situations. The weather situation of 19 October 2012 serves as an illustration of the visualization methods and their implementation using the GPU.
