Much like the previous year, the 2014–2015 snow season across the coterminous United States included a snow drought in the west and an abundance of snow further east. In particular, this season featured the Northeast receiving a remarkable quantity of snowflakes at several times and locations. Meanwhile, in Alaska, a dearth of snow in the Anchorage area led to the rerouting of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race to a start in Fairbanks. As reported in Weatherwise for the past 60 years, a month-by-month summary of noteworthy snow events, totals, and oddities from this past season follows.
