This paper will look at how one location in particular (Wattisham, in East Anglia) was affected by the cold outbreak. The counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex were particularly strongly affected, with RAF Marham recording their lowest recorded February maximum of ?3.4°C on 28 February 2018. Snow depths across the coastal regions of Norfolk and Suffolk were generally 12cm or more on 28 February at 1200 utc, with more snow falling and accumulating after this time. Roads were blocked by drifts, cutting off many village communities.
