The weather has always been a popular talking point. There is somewhat of a national obsession over the people who present it and an interest in how the forecast is determined. This book has two authors, which is a reflection of the two very different disciplines that bring the weather forecasts to our screens each night. It also reflects a time of great change for two of the country's leading institutions. Both the Met Office and the BBC grappled with creeping privatisation whilst trying to maintain the highest scientific and broadcast standards. Bill and John give us a colourful peek at what really goes on behind the scenes in order to produce a weather broadcast, including the background to a remarkable journey that made the BBC Weather Centre a world leader.
