A statistical analysis of the distribution of convective windstorms and their radar characteristics in Hubei Province, China. Part 2

To improve the capacity for the automatic identification and early warning of convective windstorms, their spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, sources, migration and paths in the Hubei Province (China) were analysed, using observation data from Hubei regional automatic weather stations between 2010 and 2016 and using radar mosaic data. It is observed that the distribution of convective windstorms across the Hubei Province is uneven, with four main sources and three principal movement directions. Three main movement paths for linear convective systems, and complex and heterogenous movement paths for the non-linear convective system were observed.</p>
