OpenIFS is a portable version of ECMWF's global weather forecasting model. Over the past decade, its user community has grown continually, and the model is used for research in many areas of atmospheric science. This has been further expanded with the release of the OpenIFS/AC model in 2022. This extension of OpenIFS permits the simulation of atmospheric composition, including trace gases and aerosols and their interaction with other atmospheric processes.</p>
