To celebrate the recent seven hundredth anniversary of Dante's death, several initiatives were launched in Italy in 2021, with the purpose of celebrating Dante's genius and illustrating, especially for younger generations, the contribution of the poet to the Italian language and to the creation of the Italian national identity. Dante offers, through meteorological phenomena, a short 'trip' into his relationship with the future and prediction from which we get to a glimpse into the scientific revolution of the sixteenth century and its eventual evolution into modern science, where meteorology now belongs.</p>
