Intensification of heatwave conditions during Cyclone Mocha in 2023
Sharma, Sakshi ; Kumar, Abhishek ; Chakraborty, Arun
Tropical cyclones (TCs) and heatwaves are two extreme weather phenomena that pose significant risks to human and natural ecosystems. Interactions between TCs and heatwaves can occur in various ways. Intensification of TCs over warm oceans can enhance heat transfer to the atmosphere that can influence the development or intensification of heatwaves in nearby land areas, causing the risk of heat stress. Heatwaves also can modify atmospheric conditions and influence the track and intensity of TCs. The aim of this study is to provide a concise overview of the intensification of heatwave conditions over India during TC Mocha in 2023.</p>
