Tropical cyclones (TCs) rank among the most destructive atmospheric phenomena. The very severe cyclonic storm Titli formed over the Bay of Bengal on 8 October 2018 and crossed the Indian coast. In this study, the Weather Research and Forecasting model performed reasonably in simulating the intensity of Titli with a 60h lead time. The model accurately represented the spatial distribution of latent heat flux (LHF) and skilfully captured the warm-core structure. The area-averaged values of LHF and relative vorticity at different atmospheric levels are calculated. A notable finding is the strong correlation between upper level atmospheric conditions and tropical cyclone intensity.</div>
